Clinical Specialties

I work with individuals ages 3 and up, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. My clinical areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, and identity development. I have a special passion for LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy and strive to create a validating space for identity exploration, self-acceptance, and empowerment. I also support clients in building coping skills, navigating life transitions, strengthening communication, and developing a deeper sense of self-worth and autonomy.

Education

I completed my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Northern Iowa, and I graduated in August of 2025. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Mount Mercy University and am currently practicing as a temporary Licensed Mental Health Counselor (t-LMHC)

About Me

Hello! My name is Brenna, and I believe that therapy works best when it’s built on trust, authenticity, and a deep respect for your lived experience. I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach, meeting clients with curiosity, warmth, and a nonjudgmental stance. My style is collaborative and flexible, integrating tools from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed care to best meet each individual’s needs.

I’m passionate about holding space for people at all stages of life and supporting them through the ups, downs, and in-betweens. My approach is especially shaped by my commitment to affirming care for LGBTQIA+ individuals and honoring their lived experiences. 

Outside of session, you can usually find me in the kitchen cooking or baking (I measure by heart!), or enjoying rock music in all its forms. I value creativity, connection, diversity and collaboration
